PayTM

Connecting a PayTM payment terminal allows customers to pay by card or by QR code directly from the POS.

Important

PayTM payment terminals are only available in India.

Configuration

Collect the PayTM credentials

Log in to the PayTM for Business portal and collect:

  • the Merchant ID (MID) of the merchant account;

  • the Merchant API key (AES key);

  • the Terminal ID (TID) of the device, or its activation code.

Configure the payment method

  1. Go to the POS settings, scroll down to the Payment Terminals section, enable PayTM, and click Save. This installs the POS PayTM module.

  2. Create a payment method for the PayTM terminal.

  3. Set the journal type as Bank.

  4. Select Terminal in the Integration field, then PayTM in the Use a Payment Terminal field.

  5. Fill in the PayTM Merchant ID, PayTM Terminal ID, and PayTM Merchant API Key fields.

  6. Set Accept Payment to Automatically for the payment to be validated in Odoo as soon as the terminal reports it, or to Manually for the cashier to confirm it.

  7. Set Allowed Payment Modes to All, Card, or QR.

  8. Click Save.

Note

The PayTM Merchant API Key is only visible to users with the Point of Sale access right set to Administrator.

Tip

Enable PayTM Test Mode to send the transactions to the PayTM staging environment while testing the setup. Disable it before going live.
